I originally started on this project partly because I love to fanny around with synths, but also because I like to listen to music when I'm falling asleep and could never find anything appropriate, so my initial idea was to have something along those lines, featuring snatched phrases behind an ambient wall that is forever sinking down, but with slightly disturbing elements, designed to unsettle. My inspiration comes from the 1981 Rapid Eye Movements album by Operating Theatre

I always love Nicky Wire's lyrics - their wisdom, wit, sadness, and rebellion. Wire ages almost painfully gracefully. This particular song feels like it was written for me (it probably wasn't) because of some letters and art I sent or tried to send Wire a long time ago when I was in a mental health crisis. In any case, it seems to be about someone who had the stupid and embarrassing experience of loving a famous stranger they know only from their art. richeychthonic
